Bonk ride. I had 6 ounces of raspberries an hour before the ride, and I finished Chinese food at 13:00ish. I had 160 calories plus salts in my hydropack, and I had about 2/3 of it during.

Sharon was nice and didn't take us up the monster hill. Aside from that, the pace was brisk. I got to be wind-breaker up front for a little bit, but Sharon attacked one of the turns onto Royal and I stayed behind for the rest of the ride.

Managed to wedge my rear derailleur against my frame while doing a parallel shift maneuver under load. Was a quick fix, but it was a little while before I worked my way back up to the front of the line. Decided this frame wants a shadow derailleur. (No, I'm not going with a medium cage and a road cassette!).

I had a learning curve moving to the Garmin 500 vs the 200, so there are some interesting fragments/delays on the end of the ride that may or may not have been auto-trimmed off. I think the bonk zombie was part of this, and I didn't leave the lot until an hour after the ride finished.

Very tired, but about an hour after I had food at home, my brains started coming back.

Sharon's out for 2 weeks. Off to do two centuries. Not sure if I want to test out a few other groups, or keep driving all the way down to Las Colinas.

I hear TX Flyers has a Wednesday evening ride out of an elementary school, but it's not posted on their website as a standard ride. Their forum has no real activity for the last year, and their one news announcement has a bad URL. I know I'm a technology bigot, but really, basic communication is important. This combination of factors implies to me that the group is dying, or they don't want outsiders.

There is one tiny link under "Misc Fun Stuff" that points to their Yahoo Group. They list the standard rides on the group home page, but not on the calendar. It shifts time by a date, but not by DST specifically. Also, the "social" vs "intermediate social" speeds are not listed. Overall, this seems really disorganized. *grumble*
