2012 - finally saw this. Conceptually, it's good. Also, I like the cast. But the implementation of possibilities is over the top and unrealistic in order to draw out drama and action. I think if some of the danger-thrill had been toned down, it would have improved realism substantially. Instead, it's infinite cliffhangers.
Surrogates - This is pretty good, but still a little unrealistic. Robot blood because all injuries need blood, even if it's not red. Also, billions of remote control robots using some unspecified wireless connectivity and real-time responsiveness even when in shielded locations? Sorry, no. But, it covers some of the worries and concerns pretty well.

Oh, and BTW, if you didn't realize 2012 should be viewed as a parody, you were doing it wrong.
Parody Errors?
The drama level reminds me of when I was 5 and the GJ Joe figures would have to survive to save the world after being severely injured....
Also, the stepdad was WAY too conveniently disposed of, with the X-Wife way too OK with that.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets annoyed by crap like this. I'm still not over the whole "uploading a virus" into the alien computer system in Independence Day. And don't get me started on the complete disregard for relativity in all the major sci-fi shows/movies I love that deal with light-speed travel.
LUDICROUS SPEED!
though they didn't address the energy consumption nor how they kept from exploding...
Blame it all on the Zed PM
