I'm no longer happy with Yahoo as my primary mail and contact management.
Specifically, when syncing contacts with my iPhone, it duplicates the contacts both directions. The duplicate fixer in yahoo leaves hundreds of these, is slow, and is very manual/pokey.
With Gmail, everything works like an exchange server. I point the iPhone to it and I get mail and calendar and contacts. I don't get notes, but I don't use notes. Duplicates are automatically resolved. It doesn't amplify ampersands either (yahoo ends up with & type things after a few replications back and forth.)
So I set up forwarding, exported/imported/deduped contacts, and used IMAP to move over my messages.
I started to use the tool they recommend, but it magically stopped at some point in the middle.
A bunch of my things are set to go to google by default now, but I'll still be tracking things that come over through forwarding.
