aparently, the nodes need the same kernel version as the CWS... so basically, the CWS was replaced from a 7009-C10 (old MCA system) with a 7044-270, which requires 4.3.3.10 min kernel. So, when the nodes customize, the kernel is wrong, so it fails.

This will be fixed at some point.

so do you build niminfo or do you scrape it up from somewhere else?

spbootins -r disk -a # set back to disk
unallnimres -a # unallocate nim resources from all nodes
spdelnimclient -a # delete nim client foo
nim -o remove spot_aix433 # delete the spot
cp /tmp/fixes /spdata/sys1/install/aix433/lppsource
inutoc /spdata/sys1/install/aix433/lppsource
spbootins -r install -a # set nodes up for nim/bootp/tftp and run setup_server to rebuild spot
spled -G & # pull up the front panel LEDs for all nodes
for i in 1 2 3 5 9 11 13 15; do
xterm -e s1term 1 $i & # Open s1term read-only
nodecond 1 $i & # Condition (netboot) node
done

echo monitor all this chit...

we were hanging at u90, after reboot... aparently, pssp_script was failing to install pssp due to prereqs...

"As soon as we started programming, we found to our surprise
that it wasn't as easy to get programs right as we had
thought. Debugging had to be discovered. I can remember
the exact instant when I realized that a large part of my
life from then on was going to be spent in finding mistakes
in my own programs."

I see 'man perldebug' in your future...

:)

well, we brought them up to 4.3.3.81 and a few other patches, but yah, this is the last ever instance of the pssp 3.2 class. All future classes will be "Cluster 1600" on PSSP 3.4.

*sigh*

Though I take the regatta class in august...
