FedEx

So last night I call and ask for a supervisor about 8:20pm.
I get Alyssa Anderson who sends a note to terminal management.

This morning, I check the website and it was scanned on a truck at 2:20am.
So I call in about 8:10am this morning because no one has called.

Called 800, Go FedEx
Option 2 for tracking
I say "Operator" and it sends me through
[less than 1 minute hold]
I have a complaint on a package I'm having trouble with.
"And your tracking number sir?"
070 636 830 200 328
"I show that a trace started yesterday, but I don't have who's assigned to that yet."
"I do show it's on a truck as of this morning."
I know, it's been on a truck each of the last 4 business days.
"Oh, ok, well, I'll get you over to Ground."
[less than 1 minute hold]
"Hi, this is Tony with Fed Ex"
I have a complaint on a package I'm having trouble with.
"And your tracking number sir?"

"Oh, ok, well, I'll get you over to The trace group.."
[less than 1 minute hold]
"Mr. Davis, I have Sheila Edwards on the line from the trace group to help you."
Thank you.
"Hi, Mr. Davis, I understand you're having trouble with a package."
Yes, Ma'am.
"Can I get that tracking number again sir?"
070 636 830 200 328
"Well, sir, I show it's on a truck as of this morning...
[attempt to interject is blocked]
|...but let me check with the terminal."
[holding about 2 minutes]
"I spoke to the depot and they assured me it is on a truck."
It's been on a truck each of the last 4 business days.
"Well, they said they did have trouble on the 6th, but it will be delivered today."
[Flustered grunging and gasping]

"if it's not delivered by 4pm, would you please give me a call."
ok.

Just for the record, the package was picked up last tuesday. This is a 1-5 day delivery service "based on distance". Houston is 252 miles, eg about a 5 hour trek. The package was actually in Fort Worth at 5am on Wednesday Morning. It left fort worth at 7:30pm and got in Dallas at 8:10pm. Thursday the 5th and every morning since, it's been put on a truck and not attempted for delivery.

I used to have faith in FexEx, especially since UPS purposely damages packages (reports from people who used to work there about how "Fragile" packages were handled, and their general sorting behaviour, plus how a package can go across town and have all internal packing crushed and the contents destroyed, not on just one package, but pretty hefty damage on 4 out of 10 in one shipment I got.)

USPS fucks up forwarding addresses due to computer limitations, and are limited to 70 pounds. This package is only 2 pounds. I wish they'd had had a Priority Mail service. It would have been cheaper, faster, and more reliable.
