LJ makes me SOOO happy.

I love instability, unreliability, etc.

Can we say, perpetual beta?

btw, the first thing the Star Wars Galaxies servers did when they went retail was, you guessed it, crash. Everyone who has played the Beta that I've talked to said it has sucked big hairy donkey balls. Not just average big hairy donkey balls but the kind where the balls aren't even the same size! (even though that's quite normal for homo sapiens).

Your post just made me think of that because well, LJ crashes an awful lot and is slow. I've toyed around with the idea of setting up my own blog on my server. I've looked at LJ's source and it's horridly hackish. There's one called b2 that's quite good. Movable type is written in perl (blech).

Ok, rambling must stop. Bye!

Yah... See, all I need is a friends-list for RSS feeds... I don't even care if other people can see it... maybe best if they cant... and then a nice, rssable blog, with logins and permissions.

Greymatter ALMOST meets my minimum requirements, but then I need something to track feeds of other people.

and yah, I hear SW Galaxies... a friend said he got on once during beta, but now he can't get in.

though he had the same problem with EVE

I dunno what all that means, other than LJ sucks grimey ass much of the time. I will not be paying next time. NO no no.

Perpetual beta means they don't comprehend what it means to have a production server, to have it not always fucked up, and to not reserve most of the resources for the paying members.
