Nerds 2.0.1: A Brief History of the Internet
180 min.
This fascinating documentary---a follow-up to 1996's Triumph of the
Nerds---chronicles the evolution of the Internet, from an experiment in a Pentagon
lab to a communication tool that links the entire world.

Host Robert Cringely guides viewers on a historical and humorous tour of the Net
for the technologically challenged. Stops include interviews with cyber-superheroes
World Wide Web inventor Tim Berners-Lee, Netscape's Marc Andreesen,
Microsoft's Bill Gates and America Online founder Steve Case. Also: the impact of
Sputnik, coffee and Grateful Dead fans on the information superhighway.
This will be on the PBS station Channel 13 tonight at 7:00 PM
It will also be on this weekend at 2:00 PM Saturday and Sunday Sept 1st and 2nd
