So, a few days after we buried my mom in OK, he was admitted to the hospital here in Tulsa.
He's only 12 years older than my mom, but that still puts him at 76 or 77.
Aparently, a blood vessel ruptured in his brain. The fam doesn't seem to have tech details, and I'm not close enough by blood for them to discuss.
Basically though, there's enough blood and swelling that they can't see though it with an xray; however, they think it may be a tumor. They've decreased his blood pressure but they aren't ready for surgery yet. They're not sure of the underlying cause yet. I hope they've done CT or MRI scans by now.
As a corrallary, his sister died in the 80s of a brain tumor which was metastasized from colon cancer. He also has been having dizziness and nausea off and on for a few years. They thought it was menier's, but I'm starting to wonder now.
The neurosurgeon went by today at 3, but I haven't heard the results of that consult.
So I'm going to head over there in a few minutes. I think it's about a 10 min trek, but I missed the 7:30 slot, so I'll have to wait until 8pm before the shuttle will take me. It gives me time to break a 20 and get tip money for the shuttle driver.
It's a little late, but I said I was coming tonight after work, and have a feeling that maybe he'd been waiting for my mom to pass, in some sort of way, so I'm worried about his longevity at this point.
